Young adult novel ‘Clearwing’ awarded a highly commended placing in the 2015 CYA Conference competition under the section ‘published authors.’

Judging feedback was as follows:

“Great writing! The beginning hooks the reader in and makes them empathise with the main character straight away. There’s also some fabulous dialogue and characterisation. You can feel the main character’s mortification and fear of his dad right from the start. This story has great pacing and you have built up plenty of tension to keep the reader turning the page to find out what happens next.”

The following year, in 2016, Candice was awarded a highly commended placing for each of her submitted entries, ‘Eco Rangers: Pelican in Peril’ which is now published with New Frontier Publishing, and ‘Rick & the Robo-Shark.’
